Sports injuries

1.ACL Tear

ACL or Anterior Cruciate Ligament tear is a common knee injury. Most athletes playing high impact sports like: Football, Cricket, Hockey, Kabbadi, Basketball etc., are prone to injure their Anterior Cruciate Ligament because of the overstretching of the ACL.

Meniscal tear is the rupturing of the fibrocartilage strips in the knee called the Menisci, which is a C-shaped cartilage functioning as a cushion between the shinbone and thighbone. This is a common knee injury. Many knee injury treated with simple measures. Others may require surgery to correct.

Posterior Cruciate Ligament or PCL tear is a less common knee injury when compared to the ACL tear. The Posterior Cruciate Ligament injury usually occurs when the front of the knee receives a blow while the knee is bent. It can happen in a car accident or a sport-related one. Partial PCL tears tend to heal on its own.

Osteochondritis Dissecans (OCD) is a joint disorder involving the subchondral bone and the overlying articular cartilage. When OCD affects the ankle it is called Ankle Osteochondritis or OCD of the ankle. In Ankle Osteochondritis, it typically occurs in the inner or medial portion of the ankle (Talus). The bone lesions on the lateral or outside portion of the talus occur due to trauma.
